Chimani gives a small group a clear private base in the Timbavati. The camp has enough shared space for long meals and fireside conversation, without losing the feeling of being in the bush.

Why Mike and Michel love it

“Chimani gives the group space without turning the safari into a hotel stay. The raised outlook is a real strength, the shared areas work naturally, and the four-room setup suits families or friends who want a private Timbavati journey.”

Who Chimani suits

It can work well for a group of six using three rooms, a group needing four rooms or a family that values an interleading option. Guests who like a private camp with modern comfort and a strong communal centre should feel at home here.

The pool, lounge, fireplace, outdoor dining area and boma give the group several ways to spend the hours between drives. This matters on a five- or seven-night stay, when camp life becomes part of the journey.

Why the setup matters

Exclusive use gives the group control over meals, conversation and social energy. It removes the need to match the habits of unrelated lodge guests. The room and living-area arrangement makes Chimani a practical choice for a group that wants comfort without excessive formality.

Host and guide roles

Mike and Michel host the journey and shape the daily conversation around wildlife, conservation and the wider Greater Kruger story. Reserve drives are led by the registered guide and tracker named in the final proposal, except where a Dagga Boys host is confirmed for the legal guiding role.

What we confirm before quoting

We check current access, exclusive-use terms, room allocation, meal plan, drinks, vehicle, guide and tracker, conservation fees, transfers, child rules and any dietary or mobility needs. The final proposal records every inclusion and exclusion.

Camp facts checked against: Safari for Real, Tourism Update’s camp report and Global Conservation Corps camp information. Availability, inclusions and operating arrangements can change; the written Dagga Boys proposal governs each booking.
