Nyala has the shape many guests imagine when they think of a private African safari camp: large trees, raised walkways, a riverbed outlook, shared fires and a small number of rooms.

The camp at a glance

  • Timbavati Private Nature Reserve in Greater Kruger.
  • Seasonal Monwana River setting.
  • Four spacious rooms for up to eight adults.
  • Rooms linked by wooden walkways.
  • Indoor and outdoor lounge areas.
  • Kitchen, firepit, boma and viewing deck.
  • Swimming pool and small gym.

Why Mike and Michel love it

“Nyala has a classic camp atmosphere without feeling staged. The trees, walkways and riverbed bring the bush close, and four rooms keep the group personal. It is the kind of place where the time between drives still feels like safari.”

Who Nyala suits

Nyala can suit four couples, a family group or friends wanting a private camp with a traditional safari mood. It gives eight adults enough room for comfort, with shared spaces that keep the journey social.

Guests drawn to outdoor living, boma evenings and watching the riverbed from camp are likely to value it. A guest needing step-free movement should have the walkway and room route checked before booking.

Why camp time matters here

A seven-night safari is not made only from drives. Mornings on the viewing deck, time under the trees, lunch, a swim and fireside evenings form a large part of the week. Nyala’s plan supports that slower rhythm.

Host and guide roles

Mike and Michel host the group and add context around sightings, conservation, people and place. Reserve drives are led by the registered guide and tracker recorded in the final itinerary, except where a Dagga Boys host is confirmed for the legal guiding role.

What we confirm before quoting

We check camp access, exclusive-use terms, room allocation, walkway suitability, catering, drinks, vehicle, guide and tracker, reserve fees, transfers, child rules and group needs. The proposal records the cost for the full camp and the six-paying-guest rate basis used for Dagga Boys planning prices.

Camp facts checked against: Safari for Real, Tourism Update’s camp report and Global Conservation Corps camp information. Availability, inclusions and operating arrangements can change; the written Dagga Boys proposal governs each booking.
